Bokun ID:

Product Code:

1029

This tour offers a visit to the Tsujunkyo Bridge, a National Treasure as of 2023, which is one of the largest stone arch aqueducts built in the last few centuries. You will also visit Tuzyun Brewery, a sake brewery with over 250 years of history, where you can tour the brewery and enjoy a tasting of three different types of sake at Kanseigura, the oldest sake brewery building in Kumamoto (amazake is available for non-drinkers). After exploring the town of Yamato, the tour concludes with a transfer to Takachiho (to a nearby hotel or the Miyako Bus Center).

Highlights

Tuzyun Brewery

This historic brewery boasts over 250 years of history. At Kanseigura, a café housed in a renovated brewhouse (the oldest in Kumamoto), you can enjoy a meal in a charming setting while sampling three types of sake. For non-drinkers, amazake will be offered instead.

Tsujunkyo Bridge

Built in 1854 to address the lack of access to water on the Shiraito Plateau, Tsujunkyo is one of the largest stone arch aqueducts built in the last few centuries. It is the only stone bridge of its kind that releases water from its arch, and it continues to irrigate the terraced rice fields of the Shiraito Plateau. It was designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan in 1960 and as a National Treasure in 2023.

Yamato Bunka no Mori

This building introduces the traditional culture of Yamato through various exhibits.
