- Komame Shokudo

Popular for set meals featuring rice balls made with terraced rice from Nakayama Senmaida. They also offer Shodoshima olive beef hamburgers and carefully prepared somen noodles from a nearby noodle factory. It's close to a popular artwork by Wan Wenchi from the Setouchi Triennale.

- Nakayama Senmaida and Rural Kabuki Theater

Nakayama's thousand terraced rice fields, selected as one of Japan's 100 best terraced rice fields, and a rural kabuki theater for celebrating good harvests. The stone-built terraced fields use spring water from nearby Mt. Yubune, still employing the "ta-goshi" irrigation method. The rural kabuki theater's seating area is made of stone, and Teshima stone is used for the fire pots that serve as lighting.

- Kankakei Gorge

Considered one of Japan's three great gorges along with Yabakei and Myogisan. It's the centerpiece of the Setouchi Inland Sea National Park, Japan's first national park designated in 1934. The mountain, formed by volcanic activity, has been eroded by wind and rain over the years, resulting in rugged rock surfaces. Accessible by ropeway, hiking, or car to the summit.

- Yamaroku Soy Sauce

A soy sauce brewery on Shodoshima Island with over 150 years of history. Their main product is "Tsuru Shoyu," a twice-brewed soy sauce made entirely in wooden barrels over about four years. In 2011, they launched the "Wooden Barrel Craftsman Revival Project" and began making their own wooden barrels.
