Visit the sacred island of Miyajima, covered in holy primeval forest. From Miyajimaguchi, it's about a 10-minute boat ride to Miyajima. After arrival, you'll visit World Heritage sites like Itsukushima Shrine and stay overnight on Miyajima. The next day, you'll have a special opportunity to actually feel the depth of Miyajima and Japanese spiritual culture by visiting Daisho-in Temple, the oldest Buddhist temple on the island. In Hiroshima City, you'll visit the Peace Memorial Museum and the Atomic Bomb Dome.

Course Content

This journey is structured based on the "Six virtues," the noble Buddhist teachings for living a better life. This experience, set amidst the natural beauty of Miyajima and the serene atmosphere of Daisho-in Temple, will give visitors a tangible sense of Japanese spiritual culture and deep travel memories. The journey to explore Miyajima more deeply begins from Daisho-in Temple.

Passing through the quiet gates of Daisho-in, the journey of introspection begins as you surrender your heart to the echoes of drums and the melody of sutras during the prayer service. Walking through the dark Kaidan-meguri (Precept Hall) is a rare experience of self-reflection in an invisible world. Beyond that, meditation awaits at a spot overlooking Miyajima. The tranquility of your heart deepens as you feel the primeval nature up close.

In front of the eternal flame that has been burning for 1200 years in the so-called Henjokutsu cave, you'll feel the passage of eternal time, and your heart will be further calmed by lighting incense. Cleaning the Japanese garden with a clear mind is also an act of purifying your inner self. The matcha tea you'll enjoy in the freshly swept garden will instill that refreshing feeling in your heart.

At the end of the journey, sharing time with a local Miyajima resident to discuss what you felt during the day creates lasting warmth and bonds.
