- Product Code:
In the largest samurai residence in Iya built about 250 years ago, enjoy the traditional dishes – amego fish (kind of trout) from nearby clear river, skewered indigenous potatoes, hard tofu (soy beancurd) and dekomawashi (jelly-like root vegetable cake with sweet bean paste) – all charcoal-grilled in open hearth. In addition, you'll have Iya’s soba buckwheat noodles, seasonal mountain vegetable tempura, deep-fried venison and konnyaku and various kinds of fresh vegetables locally grown by traditional farming on steep hills. Everything is cooked simply to bring out the best of each ingredients.
