"Beppu Art Walk" is a tour of Beppu city with a guide in English.
In addition to strolling through the back alleys where you can experience the old townscape that remains in the city center and appreciating the art works scattered around Beppu, you can also experience any art events that are taking place that day.
This is an Art Walk where you can discover the various charms of Beppu while walking around town.

■Onsenbouquet/Michael Lin

This work is part of the art project "ALTERNATIVE-STATE," which invites one artist to Beppu every six months to create eight works. The artist was inspired by the floral and tile patterns of yukata robes while researching Beppu, and it is a huge mural work.

■Strolling through the backstreets

Beppu escaped air raids during World War II, and many narrow alleys and streetscapes from before the war remain. By taking you through alleys that are rarely visited on regular sightseeing trips, you will come into contact with the history and culture of the town.

■Kiyoshima Apartment

This former boarding house apartment complex, consisting of 3 buildings and 22 rooms, was built shortly after the war and is now used as a place for artists and creators to live and work. This year, eight artists from various genres are in residence.
