[Bird Experience]

Bird watching in the Ramsar Convention registered wetland “Izunuma/Uchinuma” is centered around “taking off” early in the morning and “roosting” in the evening. The biggest feature of this program is the overwhelming number of wild birds. Among birds, it is said to be near the southern limit on the Pacific side where magans fly in, and about 90% of magans that come to Japan overwinter around Izunuma. The wetland from the paddy field trail to the water's edge is relatively narrow, and the distance between birds and people is unique to Izunuma. The experience of being surrounded by large groups of birds rushing from the surface of the lake will be something you'll never forget.

[Meals]

The meals offered in this experience plan are dinner centered around the Miyagi brand “Date's Pure Red Pork” and local vegetables, and breakfast, which is a local dish. Date's pure red pork is a meat pig produced by pure crossing “Shimofuri Red,” which was lineaged over a period of 8 years by a livestock testing site in Miyagi Prefecture, and is characterized by the fact that sardines are contained in the lean part. Red pork meat carefully raised by designated farmers is pale pink, rich in flavor, tender, and has excellent juiciness.

The local dish “hatto” is a dish made by kneading flour, and there is a culture where it has been eaten to supplement everyday meals, such as when cooked rice is insufficient. Currently, various cooking methods have also been created, and it is also useful as a hospitality dish unique to the local community.
