Let's go on a full-scale pilgrimage with Farm Haruharu through the mountains of Shirakami-Sanchi Noshiro!
You can hear stories about history and religion from the guide, and farm Haruharu about trees and flowers.
Experience Buddhism by walking through seasonal mountain scenery
We pick seasonal wild vegetables, cook them ourselves, and eat them.
Enjoy seasonal wild vegetables along with rice balls, gakko (pickles), and miso soup.
There is also a 15 minute talk on Buddhism in English at the end.

9:00 Mountain walk
The content changes depending on the season
Picking wild plants
Slowly drink farm Seiharu's herbal tea at the top of the mountain and take a break
Heart Sutra in the Mido Hall (read the sutras together)
12:00 Return to Ryusenji
Cook wild vegetables yourself
Don't worry, we will prepare a supplement when the harvest is low.
While looking at Shirakami-Sanchi
Lunch with wild vegetable rice balls, miso soup, and Iburigikko
You can listen to a 15 minute Buddhist story in English from the chief priest.

「ユネスコ世界自然遺産白神山地の景色を堪能できる」龍泉寺の案内人、
農園晴晴さんと一緒に本格的な巡礼姿で白神山地能代の山をあるこう!
歴史や信仰について案内人から、木や花については農園晴晴さんからお話を聞くことができます。
四季折々の山の風景を歩いて仏教体験
季節の山菜を採り、自分で調理をし、食します。
おにぎり、がっこ(漬物)、味噌汁とともに季節の山菜を味わいます。
終わりに英語による仏教のお話15分もあります。

山頂で農園晴晴さんのハーブティーをゆっくり飲んで休憩
御堂内で般若心経法楽(お経を一緒に読む)
12:00 龍泉寺へ戻り
山菜を自分で調理
採れ高の少ない時は補充分を用意しますのでご安心ください。
白神山地を眺めながら
山菜おにぎり、味噌汁、いぶりがっこで昼食
住職から英語で15分ほど仏教のお話を聞くことが出来ます。

Pilgrimage Walk in the Shirakami Mountains – A Journey with Ryusenji Temple’s Guide and Nouen Harubare
Join a special mountain pilgrimage wearing traditional attire, walking through the beautiful Noshiro area of the Shirakami Mountains, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site!
Guided by a Ryusenji Temple host, you will learn about the rich history and spiritual traditions of the area, while Nouen Harubare will share insights about the local plants, flowers, and trees.
Experience the breathtaking seasonal landscapes of the mountains through a Buddhist perspective.
You will forage for seasonal wild vegetables (sansai), cook them yourself, and enjoy a meal featuring seasonal flavors alongside rice balls (onigiri), pickled vegetables (gakko), and miso soup.
At the end of the program, you will also attend a 15-minute Buddhist Dharma talk in English.
Program Flow:
9:00 – Mountain Walk
- Enjoy a guided hike through the mountains (course may vary depending on the season).
- Forage for seasonal wild vegetables.
- Rest at the mountaintop with herbal tea provided by Nouen Harubare.
- Participate in a Buddhist Heart Sutra chanting ceremony (Hannya Shingyo) at the temple hall.
12:00 – Return to Ryusenji Temple
- Prepare and cook the harvested mountain vegetables.(Supplementary ingredients will be provided if foraging yields are limited.)
- Enjoy a meal while overlooking the majestic Shirakami Mountains:rice balls, miso soup, and local pickled delicacies (iburigakko).
- Listen to a 15-minute Buddhist Dharma talk in English delivered by the head priest.
