This tour is an experiential art tour where you can not only appreciate art works, but also decipher local history, culture, and memories of the city. With a guide by the director of the art festival this time, you can notice the “life” connection between art, people, and land.

By walking through public art scattered throughout the city of Oita, you will find new meaning and value in landscapes that are usually overlooked, and rediscover the “life” of the city. There, art and culture rooted in the community functions as a force connecting people to people, people to places, past and future.

The participants shared their excitement with each other, and it was a valuable experience where each person could feel a “connection.”

It also provides a place to experience the value of the Expo's sub-theme “Connecting Lives” through art and build new relationships that will be passed on to the future.

It is a work that expresses how chimeras (tigers, elephants, peacocks, etc.) combining different animals are carried on a ship, influenced by the Nanban culture introduced to Oita in the Middle Ages.

It is also a work where I expected something new to be born.
