Course Content

- Hoto Zen meditation experience at Mt. Hiei Enryakuji Temple

Participants will practice meditation while observing the unique flickering of Japanese candles assigned to each person.

- Fujii Honke Brewery

Founded in 1831 during the Edo period, Fujii Honke Brewery has been producing sake for generations. They produce special sacred sake called "Shiroki" for the "Niinamesai" harvest festival, which is offered to shrines nationwide and annually presented to the Emperor. They also brew "Omiki" sacred sake for shrines across Japan.

In this plan, you'll enjoy a tour of the sake brewery, which is designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property and has been used as a filming location for dramas and movies. The brewery owner will explain the history and appeal of Japanese sake.

After the tour, you can enjoy comparing more than 10 different types of Fujii Honke's proud sake.
