Why not enhance your cultural understanding through Zen with the deputy chief priest in the tranquil environment of Sanshoji Temple in Nara and make your trip to Japan a more luxurious experience? Zen has had a variety of influences on the character and culture of the Japanese people, and much of Japan's traditional culture has been influenced by Zen.
Zen is also the very spirit of the Japanese people, and Zen training has created opportunities for people to face themselves.
In general Zen experiences in Japan, the emphasis is on "Zazen" itself, where you sit down and meditate while sitting upright. However, the Zen experience at Sanshoji Temple emphasizes getting to know the Japanese way of thinking and spirit, and facing yourself through that, and "Zazen" is one way to do so.
Another feature of this experience is that the deputy chief priest himself speaks in English, so you can hear his thoughts and ideas about "Zen" in his own words.
Through the "cleaning", "Zazen", "light tea" and conversation with the deputy chief priest included in this experience, you can learn about Japanese culture and the Japanese spirit and use it to reexamine yourself.
"About Sansho-ji Temple"
Zuiunzan Sanshoji Temple was built in 785 and rebuilt as a Soto Zen temple in 1639. The wind blowing through the pines in the Sansho-ji temple grounds cleanses the soul, creating a state of freedom and tranquility. There is also a spacious Zazen hall, where you can think about what you need right now, and through Zazen you can regain your sense of self and cultivate a warm and compassionate heart.
"Deputy Chief Priest Profile"
After training at the head temple, Eiheiji, he was appointed deputy chief priest of Sanshoji Temple in Nara. He is currently in his fourth year. As a Zen monk, he values tradition and culture, but is also active in many areas across boundaries in order to explore the nature of Buddhism and Zen in society.

"Cleaning"
In this experience, you will also clean the temple. In Zen, there is a saying, "One cleaning, two faith," which places cleaning above faith. Cleaning is not just about cleaning the place, but also about wiping off the dirt and dust that has accumulated in your mind.
"Zazen"
This is one of the Zen practices in which you sit in the correct posture and concentrate your mind (to regulate your mental activity). Through Zazen, you will stretch your mind and, while regulating it, you will face "yourself today." Zazen in front of the Bodhidharma painted on the entire wall is unique to Sanshoji Temple.
