In 2024/11, the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare awarded a building with a new thatched roof in a campsite, which is also a symbol of the original landscape of Japan, as an outstanding technician (modern master craftsman), and it is an experience to build together with Kawakami Yoshinori, the only thatched craftsman in Shikoku, and members at the “Association for Passing on Thatched Culture.” You can learn the techniques of thatch craftsmen and experience the structure and history of thatching, which is also a symbol of Japan's satoyama landscape.
After completion, the finished thatched building will be donated to Yusuhara-cho and used as a place where local children can feel close to thatched culture.
●Minimum number of participants: 5 people
●Application deadline 4 weeks prior to departure
● Means of transportation:Kurume Hire company (a minivan taxi up to 8 pax)
● Tour attendants will not accompany you (local staff will accompany you)
● 5 meals (2 dinner, 2 breakfast, 1 lunch)
●Cancellation fees
Cancellations on or after the day 30 days from the day before the start date of the trip: 50% of the travel fee
Cancellations on or after the 10th day from the day before the start date of the trip: 70% of the travel fee
Cancellations on or after the day 7 days from the day before the start date of the trip: 100% of the travel fee
