Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden
It is the oldest alpine botanical garden in Japan, opened in 1933. On Mt. Rokko, a mountain near the city, we grow approximately 1,500 species, including alpine plants, cold region plants, plants native to Mt. Rokko, and other wildflowers from all over the world. Within the 5-hectare garden, plants are planted in conditions close to their natural state to match the environment, including a rock garden where alpine plants are displayed and cultivated, a wetland along a mountain stream, and the shade of beech trees, allowing you to enjoy a variety of flowers throughout the year. At 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., there is also a free 30-minute guided tour of the flowers at their best.
