山本能楽堂
Yamamoto Noh Theater is located in the former samurai residence area in Osaka, about 10-minute walk from Osaka Castle. The theater was established by Hiroyuki Yamamoto (1890-1973) in 1927 and has a nearly 100-year history, which makes it the oldest Noh theater in Osaka. Its original stage was burned down during the World War II, but rebuilt in 1950. The theater was registered as a Japanese Tangible Heritage in 2006. Our goal is the continuation of the tradition and the popularization of Noh as an alive and attractive classical performing art, which can be enjoyed by everyone.

”Tokui Noh'' is a Noh performance that even beginners can enjoy. An explanation is provided before the performance so that even first-timers can enjoy it. English subtitles are also displayed to make it easier for foreign customers to understand. After the performance, participants will be able to try out Noh masks, costumes, and musical instruments.
